I have never fully agreed with the first part of this quote. I think supportive loved ones can definitely want the best for us and for us to reach our goals in life. But them wanting it for us is not enough. We need that self drive to get us up and out the house for that early morning run or to get that extra hour in of studying before everyone else wakes up. We need to want it for ourselves.

When setting goals its important to think about why we want to achieve them. If it’s only to make other people happy, then we need to rethink it. Writing down your specific goal is a vital step, but remember to also write down why you set it, how you plan on reaching it and when you want to reach it by.
