  1. Weekly Tip - New Years Goals

It’s that time of year again where everyone starts setting New Years resolutions. Whilst the start of a new year is an excellent time to set new goals for yourself there are some things you need to consider.

When setting goals it’s important to think about why you want to achieve it. If it’s only to make other people happy, then I would suggest rethinking it. Writing down your specific goal is a vital step, but remember to also write down why you set it, how you plan on reaching it and when you want to reach it by.

Try using the acronym SMART when deciding on your goal. This will help you set more achievable goals with a plan on how to achieve them.
    • S - specific
    • M - Measurable
    • A - Achievable
    • R - Realistic

Once you have decided on your goal putting the goal down in writing is a vital step of the process. When it’s not written down it’s just a dream or a wish.

Next you want to make sure that the goal is measurable - for example if it’s body fat loss - what is your starting point? how much body fat would you like to loose?

When do you want to achieve this goal?
